There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Very nice! In my opinion, a broken-in and worn Beckman looks better than when they are new.

BTW, have anyone added/replaced their Beckman (or any 6" boots for that matter) with Cuban heel?

I've been wondering the same thing. May be a question for a good cobbler like Nick at B. Nelson.

    Thanks!

How new are yours? Mine slipped a little but that eventually went away. If it's persistent, wear thicker socks or add an insert, as it's too big.

They are a couple days old.
If i lace up to the very top, the slip is pretty minimal
I put a slim insole in there already.

They just arent super tight fitting everywhere, i can still wiggle my toes a little - where as the half size down was really narrow on my foot/toes

I am digging those higher-than-usual heel found on logger boots.

Below is Wolverine Austen that has the same idea. :inlove:

i have had my GT'S for about 8 weeks, the more i wear them the better they fit, as far as insoles go SUPERFEET black, they are very thin. i can move my toes alittle more than i would like, but a half size smaller would not work, that is why i use the insoles, they are snug whithout being tight. i think if you are patient, and give them time it will work well for you.

I ended up ordering a half size smaller and see if I can cram Into them and see if they stretch out.. Though its painful paying for 2 pairs of the same shoe!

i hate to be a downer for you,but i bought my gt's from my local red wing store, i was thinking the same thing as you are,1/2 size smaller, the gentleman at the store gave some good advice, they will stretch a little wider, but no way will they get longer.

Another sizing question - I'm a 12D in Alden Aberdeen, Plaza; more like 11.5C or 11.5D in Barrie last. I have a narrow heel and very low, flat foot.

I got an 11.5 9016 and I've still got some space in the heel. I'm wearing a wool sock from Brooks Brothers - not dress weight, but just a little thicker. I feel like I could fit a 3/4 insole.

Do people usually go 1 full size down? Or do I go with an insole?

spent 8 weeks breaking in my red wing gt's, put them on yesterday and felt something that thought was just a little fold in my sock, took my boot off only to find a staple poking up in the sole. i know things happen, but man my boots were feelig good. no problem on the return, but now i am back to square 1 on the break in, after they send my new gt's.

Just added a 1/4" heel to my 2-3 months old Beckman.

I think the added heft makes the boots look better.

Is Obenauf's LP still the go-to for a pair of Cigar GT's?

It's a good thing you asked. It's recently been reported that HDLP is no longer safe to use with leather from SB Foot's tannery, owned and operated by RW and the exclusive leather supplier for RW boots. The report cited several examples in which formerly perfect Beckman/GT boots appearance and shape were irreparably damaged after just a single application of Obenauf HDLP. See images below.

Just Kidding, Obenauf HDLP or Montana Pitch Blend will work fine. I prefer HDLP.

I've been applying Obenauf's LP to my boots monthly since I got them. Especially now during the winter months, I try to ensure that there is adequate protection.
