Check out these GT-esque boots. NOS from eBay. I wonder what vintage they are...

They are more comfortable than my GTs, but they are an E width (not available with GTs).

I picked up the Hawthorne Iron Ranger from Zappos since they were on sale... searched around for some threads on here and people complained that they don't look good with slim jeans/pants? I think they're crazy... they look awesome IMO. I'm just wondering how the lighter Hawthorne will look with jeans as well...

i was on the phone with the brand manager (?) at red wing. she says it won't be available for retail until august 2010.

i've since changed my mind about these shoes... i'm just gonna go for alden chukkas instead of these. they're too chunky.

Grrr i received the boots today.

Right away i noticed something funky with them... the right boot's tongue is super thin and flimsy, while the left is thicker and more stiff.

The tongue on the right boot is actually pretty comfortable while the tongue on the left pair are thicker so the fold is fatter where they are sewn into the sides of the boots and kind of dig into my foot... not comfortable.

Is the tongue supposed to be thin or thicker closer to the rest of the upper material?

Can't send em back either, they were the last in my size.
