I am seeking recommendations for higher-end down jackets, preferably from lesser known Italian labels.

I have included an image from the Netflix series Dirty Money as an example:

Just to be clear—of course many outdoor clothing companies make down jackets like that (Arc’teryx, Marmot, Patagonia, etc.) is there are particular reason why you don’t want one of those jackets? Also what is your budget?

High end but not well known.

Well, I should excuse myself at this point because if I’m aware of it, it’s too pedestrian.

Depends on your intended use. As stated above, for technical outdoor gear stick with US or Canadian companies if you live in the US.

Outdoor brands: Patagonia, Arcteryx or Veilance, Outdoor Research, Houdini (exception to the above rule)

If you want something a bit more luxurious for lounging around a ski lodge:
Herno (Italian) or Bogner

If you want to stay away from the affluent masses, avoid Canada Goose and Montcler.
IMO, Parajumpers is probably going to be next big "thing"

Nothing screams cash quite as loud as vintage bogner.

All will have higher quality materials and better attention to detail ... important if you're actually trying to stay warm doing things outside. The fashion brands are much lower value. They make sense if the priority is looks (and you like the look). The outdoor brands usually have a more technical cut, and are designed to be worn over a lot of other gear. You're less likely to have a sleek silhouette in these.
