Recommendations for a navy blazer?

I've consistently chosen sport coats over blazers and have managed to go my entire life without a navy blazer. (I know it's shocking to many on this forum.) However, I think I should add navy blazer to my wardrobe. I expect to use the blazer for travel and around the office (which defines business casual as "no jeans"). I might even leave it at the office just in case I need it. What should I look for? Are there options other than the gold buttons?

Skip the gold buttons unless you want to look like a sailor. I've seen blazers with horn buttons, white pearl buttons, and even some almost tarnished silver buttons which looked great.

I figured I'd give a JAB Signature line blazer a shot (on sale, of course). I should be picking it up tomorrow. i couldn't stand the shiny gold buttons either, so I had them swap them out with some very muted brass. They're almost black or gunmetal looking. I think it'll be a nice combo.

I'm planning on replacing the bright brass buttons on my HF blazer whenever I can find a replacement I like. Horn's the obvious choice, but I'm considering a set of dull/ patina copper buttons if I can ever find some that are suitable.

Unless you really want the classic preppy/county club look of brass buttons, I would skip them in favor of nice horn.

I also like patch pockets and double vents, but that is simply personal.
