I lived in New Orleans for three years and only stopped in the shop a few times. I found myself back in town earlier this week and decided to check the shop out again. The store stocks a pretty great assortment of brands, including Kiton, Borrelli, Isaia, Luciano Barbera, Brunello Cucinelli, Belvest, and Sartoria Napoli. The selection wasn't huge and could have been edited better, but it was nice seeing all of those brands together. The store also stocks Edward Green and happened to have a representative from EG in the store when I was there.
Most people head to Rubenstein's in New Orleans for men's clothing, but I've always found the staff obnoxious and pushy. The salesman there kept reminding me how great the store was, because it sold $6,000 suits. I find George Bass to be much more pleasant and have a more interesting collection of goods. It's about half a block away from Rubenstein's, so it's easy to check out both at the same time. And you can pop into Meyer the Hatter in between.
