I bought a pair of APC new Standards so I'm set as far as dry denim goes.

I need to pick one or two pairs of regular jeans now. I'd like something that is slim fitting with a small leg opening. I guess something similar to the standard. Looking to spend less than $100. Any suggestions? Gap, Levi etc.??

J.crew? Honestly nobody is going to call you out on wearing pre-distressed denim. I think J.Crew has some nice jeans that look good, Gap as well. I've never had any that have fallen apart on me. So they're good choices. Maybe express as well.

Look for a store with the Earnest Sewn Kyrre on sale (shouldn't be too hard to find), or else one of the slimmer Corpus jeans. Probably pretty close to what you're looking for.

levi's 501 for like $40. or good society jeans for about the same price if you can find a sale (normally $100).

Are you looking for distressed jeans or just a solid non-dry pair of jeans?

If you're looking for distressed jeans I would really try to find a quality pair of jeans on sale. Imo there are little to no jeans with good distressing which a retail under $100. My immediate suggestion would be Earnest Sewn, which can often be had for around $100 - $120 on sale.

Even though most hate the brand here, you may want to check out Diesel jeans. They retail for, IIRC (and I may be way off), $120 - $200, but on ebay or honestforum B&S they can be bought for under $100 (maybe even under $50). I think their biggest problem is too much distressing/dumb details, but some of them aren't bad at all. You just have to be careful when purchasing.

If you want washed denim with a similar fit to (sized down 2) APC NS for under $100...

- Levi's 511 (lower rise and slightly slimmer at hem than NS; size up one instead of down two if you want to match NS fit)

- Levi's 514 (slightly wider than NS)

- GAP low rise straight or Gap standard (both are wider than NS; GAP washed denim isn't the most durable--the three pairs i have had through the years have all been retired within a few months)

- H&M (visit a local store to see what fits they have at the moment; you can likely find something that comes close in fit to NS, but the quality will likely be below the above two brands)

You can easily find each brand for well under $50 on sale

Maybe try the Good Society in the slim or straight cut, the Insights, or the RVCA jeans. they all have a slimmer straight cut. not too tight, definately not too loose. all easy on the wallet.

They can be dry or not, but I don't want to spend more than $100. I want more of a solid pair, not distressed. I do have a pair of Gap Slim straight that I really like], but want something different.

I'm looking for something that fits like this:

The fit is cool on these, but I really like the color:

Link doesn't work, but they are Levi Golden Haze

Definitely Levi 514.

They are slim/straight and fit very well like your pic without the rediculous skinny look.

You can get them with different kinds of pre-wash, or with essentially none at all.

I bought these 2 weeks ago:

Under $40 on sale.

Where did you get those from? Any idea about the color or the product number?

Off the rack at Macy's.

They are labeled and tagged (except for the tag about the color) just like the pre-faded 514's you find everywhere in all the other discount and department stores, but I've never seen them anywhere else. I don't even see a 514 color description on the official Levi US website that really matches these.

Maybe a Levi store would have them too, but I haven't checked.

Are you sure they're blue and not black?
