I'm looking for recommendations, size 11.5. I'm tired of Allen Edmonds clunky designs and poor quality leather. Thanks.

Watch the B&S forums for a good deal. Otherwise up your budget to $400 and grab some C&J.

If you really want a staple shoe in a sleek last from one of the top makers than you should strongly reconsider your budget.

I bought a pair of black Ferragamo captoes on sale for $250. It's possible. Wait for the after Christmas sales. You might find something.

Try cheaney, grenson, sargent or herring shoes at that price range. Actually there is a photo somewhere here where AE was placed beside an EG, albeit a 202 and it didn't look to bad. i think the clunkiness of AE is blown out of proportion by haters. Edit found links to pics.

I think it's more the smaller the foot, the clunkier it looks. some display models of larger sizes i thought looked good but when i tried them on my little feet, they became clunky.
