For basic alterations I've had good luck with Carlozzi in Fall River. Just be sure you let them know exactly what you want and if you're particular about things.

There are not a lot of options close by I'm aware of.

Mario the Tailor in Chestnut Hill is good. Probably too far north for you, but recommended.

i go to franks custom tailoring in downtown boston. family run business, frank and his son bill are great people. plus they're italian if that helps ^^
