1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

People are not responding because we have nothing to work with here. All you give us is a sepia photo of your face. How are we supposed to see your skin tone? Try posting a color pic of yourself that shows your whole body.

For the love of God... no more Mr. Spiffy pics. Just mention him in context and trust me, we can conjure up his image. Or, if you HAVE to post a pic of him, at least put "NSFW" at the beginning.

Anyway, to try and at least make some suggestion, you are a younger guy and I'm assuming pretty slim, so aside from the usual color choices of navy, grey, or petrol blue (do a search on the recent thread where we talked about this color), you'd probably look good in any number of designer suits. Unless you have unlimited funds, Brioni, Borrelli, Attolini etc. might be a little out of your price range and also a little out of your age range. Have fun with your clothes, which you can still do as you are young. Save the Brioni for when you are a rich investment banker.

So, go out and try recent seasons of Givenchy, the recent CK Collection by Zucchelli, Valentino (including the younger Valentino RED line, which I think would work well for you), even some of the Emporio Armani suits, while certainly not worth it at full retail, nevertheless have a flattering cut and look for a younger guy.

Do you really feel that Brioni is an old man's suit?

Brioni makes a beautiful suit, but really, for a young good lookin' fellow like yourself, I'd think you should go for something younger, slimmer, less serious, and better for going out. Unless you are working at an investment bank or some job where you need to impress with the handwork of your suit, I think spending the extra $$$ for Brioni at this stage in your life is a waste. The best quality is certainly a good thing to look for, but at the same time, you should enjoy what you wear. I mean, after all, you posted Jamie Foxx as someone whose style you liked; you didn't post Agnelli or one of the Dukes of Windsor.

Allen-Edmonds, for example, is rightfully praised on this site as a great workhorse shoe at a good quality/price ratio. That being said, I find most of them boring as hell and that's why I don't have any in my closet.

So, I think it is good to have a pragmatic approach to quality and brands. You don't want to throw your money away just for a brand name, but you also don't necessarily want to to get something just because some people say it is "the best." Maybe it is... for them. But, for you, I'd play around and explore first.

    Thanks for the advice.
Slim fitted clothes are my thing and maybe I just should stick to those for now..

How do you feel about brands like d&g, moschino and hugo boss? Big brands aren't liked very much here allthough these are my some of my favourites right now. Maybe you can recommend me some alternatives of better quality.

^There really is nothing wrong with any of the three you mentioned. At full retail, they are definitely overpriced for the quality, but in and of themselves they make a decent suit with an excellent silhouette. If you will be wearing the suit everyday, then probably Boss or D&G (the diffusion, as opposed to Dolce & Gabbana mainline) probably wouldn't be a good recommendation. A lot of guys here wear a suit to work each day, and the above mentioned brands tend to wear prematurely given a lot of wear.

For going out, for evenings or parties, then I think they'd be fine. They'd give you a nice-looking silhouette (though Boss is less slim and a little boxier) and if paired with the right shoes/shirt/tie will make you look ten times better than most of your slovenly dressed friends.

Emporio Armani is another I mentioned at about the same price level. CK Collection is a little more, but makes a very decent suit with a great cut. Gucci always makes a decent suit with a very distinctive look. Same with Prada. Both are high at retail ($1600-2000), but you can often find them on Yoox or bluefly at discount. Valentino Roma and RED are two others that are quite nice, I think.

If you look on Yoox, there is a brand called Lardini (yes, terrible name!) that makes a good suit and is usually there for $500 or less. They make suits for Ferragamo and some of the other big names, but put out a decently slim, classy, simple suit that is good for regular wear.

By the way, what's your size? I just had a few suits (one Hugo Boss, one Armani Collezioni) in a 38R that I had in the sales are that are basically brand new and were very reasonably priced. If you are that size, drop me a PM and I can send you pics. I'm leaving for Japan in a few weeks and would love NOT to have to put them into storage.

That's basically my size, maybe a little too small. But I want to go for the d&g I gues, I really fell in love with the 3rd one.
Is the website for yoox just yoox.com?

Are you a woman if I may ask?
