Recommend me a spring/fall light jacket

Title says it all. I want a casual lightweight jacket to wear in spring and fall for when a sportcoat is inappropriate, ie with raw denimz and informal trou. I've looked into the Baracuta G9, and while that seems nice, I'm sure there's more out there. Navy would probably be the most versatile color, but I could see light grey/stone also working as well. No need to be waterproof, as I already have a raincoat. Budget is around the price of the Baracuta...thanks for any suggestions you can provide.

Safari jacket is probably your best bet.

I got one off the Bay from Paul Stuart that's orange/red in color.

Some derivation of M-65 if you don't have one.

I have a houndstooth wool jacket from Steven Alan which I wear more than any other right now. It is cut like a baseball jacket, similar to a g9.

I like the look of the R&B Dakota II jacket, can anyone comment on its weight? Good for spring, or is it more of a f/w jacket? I live in the Northeast, so spring can involve temps anywhere from 40-70 degrees F, but this would be a mid 50s low 60s kind of jacket. Also, in true SF fashion, I must ask if I'm stuck paying the $500 or so retail for it, or if there are cheaper avenues (such as obtaining a discount through a forum affiliate). Thanks.

I would imagine you could get a decent discount from Farinelli? I got my Dakota from them and it was 50% on sale

Not surprisingly from the same photobucket, the S/S Woolrich Woolen Mills Maine Guide Jacket. I'm hoping there's a heavier version available next F/W.

Awesome, thanks...one more question. Did you buy TTS or does this run small? I've tried on some R&B pieces, and when they are sized SML I need to size up one to an L (shoulders and chest too tight). For example, I wear a 40 in PRL, should I look into a 40 or a 42 for the Dakota? Thanks.

B - do you normally get your EG stuff tailored at all?
