Considering your 10k budget, you'll likely not be in a position to pay 1-2k repair bills, and thus I would chop 75% of the above recommendations off your list.

Strongly consider the RSX... Can be had in an auto, can be found well south of 10k, very reliable, and GREAT seats.

I don't anything mentioned on this thread so far is a true head turner except the mid 70's Mercedes (SL convertible, obviously). maybe the Jag XK and Z4 if you want to stretch it a bit
