We want to take a relatively short vacation before my wife gets too big to travel comfortably. It's a bit of a last hurrah before diapers, sleepless nights, etc.

We've always done far-flung/adventure vacations so we're a little stumped now despite all the "babymoon" BS out there.

-Live in Northeast U.S
-Looking to do something mid- to late-summer.
-Four to six nights
-Spend under $1,500 for lodging and transport.
-Something that's pretty chill.

Any suggestions would be most welcome. So much so that your screen-name will be my kid's middle name.

How much is Montreal? I'd go there.

Manoir Hovey is very nice - about 90 minutes from Montreal. Think old-school resort. Not sure is it fits your budget. But if you've never been to Montreal I would stay in the city (second best food city in NA) and maybe spend a night out in the eastern townships.

Or check out the adirondacks is you want the lake lodge/small town experience.

Montreal would be my choice as well. It hosts a jazz festival in late June-early July and a comedy festival in mid-late July. Stay in a boutique hotel in Old Montreal.
