yes i know, a blazer and jeans combo isnt exactly trend setting, lol, but i happen to look quite good in them.

here's what i'm looking for. a gray shade of blazer (i'm open to both darker and lighter), to go with my dark jeans.

under i'll either be wearing a t-shirt or collared shirt, so something that can go with both would be appreciated

a link with a picture would be fantastic so i could just take it to the local shops here in Vancouver and say "here , this is what i need"

thank you kindly

You need contrast so if you tend to wear dark/raw jeans, go with a lighter shade of grey (similar to the light grey flannel cucinelli jackets with elbow patches that are quite popular.

Look for fashion brands in the style you like. I mean Attachement makes grey blazers and so does Gaultier but they have very little in common.

So:

price range?
your size?
look you're going for?
brands you like/dislike?

I own grey blazers from Carol Christian Poell, Lad Musician and Thom Browne, maybe chekc out those...

This blazer would look fine with dark dressy jeans. This combo (sans the orange sweater) is my standard casual look.

Not to derail but genuinely curious. How are these referred to as "blazers" when they are 99% more like orphaned suit jackets? Blazers are navy with patch pockets and have brass buttons... Has the term "blazer" changed over time?

If you're willing to change your color choice, I would say a black sportscoat from Kilgour with angled pockets and single button, make your upper body looks very strong, and slim waist, don't have any picture, so it in Barnyes New York once, fantastic stuff.

Most shades of gray go well with denim.

Lose the tee, unless it's a v-neck. And even then...

thanks guys, some good tips and suggestions.
i dont know why but i was half expecting some very snobby answers, lol.

in any respect to answer some of the questions:
- i dont have any particular brands that i prefer, i'm very open. i simply choose on what fits/looks best
-price i was thinking around $200 to $400. good figure to go by?

and clee1982 i'd definitely be open to your idea. i'll do a google search see if i can find anything like what you're referring to

also, why no T-shirt? is this considered a big fashion mistake? or is it mainly because every other 20 something at the bar/club wears this?

(i myself am in my mid 20's)
