recommend a good tv series to me

i live in the great white north and fall/winter is approaching need a list of some good series to pass the long months ahead.
as a guide line my fave shows are The Shield,The Wire,The Sopranos,Breaking Bad...and some of the shows i have started watching thanks to the Entertainment threads are Justified,Sons Of Anarchy and presently Sherlock all great shows but i need more...and please no Mad Men cant ******* stand it...ready set go and thanks in adavance.

I like the series you mentioned, so I figure you may enjoy these. Though they are less serious, they are intelligent and very well-regarded by smart viewers.

Second (and third and fourth and so on) the Burn Notice recs, also: Deadwood.

And i just started rewatching Twin Peaks, which really doesn't jive much with some of the other lists here but is certainly one of my favorites. Give it a shot!
