I've been looking for a good book on drinks (spirits, cocktails, beer, etc.) I ran across a book called The Essential Guide to Spirits and Cocktails, which looks very good.

I was wondering if anyone has this book? Do you think it's good? Would you recommend it? Are there any other good books on this subject people would recommend?

I have this

Only problem is the book is a little small - 18 x 13.5cm and 3.5cm thick.

Those books are on mixing drinks. I'm thinking more along the lines on a book that has a good information about all sorts of drinks, not just cocktails.

How's your drink? by Eric Felten.

Some good recipies and an enjoyable read. Not a drink encyclopedia (just buy an iphone app if you need that).

THe Ultimate Bar book above does actually have descriptions of spirits. For example it has a great section on the differences between various tequilas.
