Looking for a black chelsea boot. Ofc there are many great options out there, but I'm a bit limited as I wear a US 6 / EU 39 in boots.

Criteria:
• Under $400 (preferably <$300)
• Conservative (can be worn with a suit or jeans)
• Resoleable
• Whole cut would be great but not required

I imagine I'll get recommendations for Story Et Fall, but they are too SLP-esque to be versatile in my wardrobe. Any ideas? I've been looking around and have had no luck. Thanks.

J Fitzpatrick would probably tick all of the boxes? And has a great MTO service if what’s on the shelves isn’t an exact match. No affiliation other than a happy customer.

RM Williams is the default option for many. I’d start there and explore around if that doesn’t meet your needs.

Suit all the way to jeans is IMO expecting too much. I like @TheIronDandy's suggestions above. Would also add:

Grenson appears to have a few models marked down to your price range.

Model names: Ralph, Declan, Marco...

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
