I used that thread: I got one response, and it was wrong. The jeans are selvage (made by Kaihara), I later found out; but by that time the thread had moved on. So I took my query out of the 'I have a jean' thread. By the way, given the ridiculously low price (25GBP) I just ordered a pair. We'll see.

'em are good jeans. I like the pair I had, especially for the price. Denim is from Kaihara Mills as you said (although they might have changed fabric supplier this season), feels lightweight, and is somewhat slubby.

The indigo dye bleeds a lot faster than other jeans tho, whether that's a good or bad thing depends on what you're after.

Just received the jeans. They're a nice pair for the price. The denim feels substantial and, as you said, it's even a little bit slubby. But they're a bit tight. Will they stretch with wear? Will they shrink around the waist in the wash?

Too many useful query threads get dumped in that thread.

Got my 30x32 (proxied via UK to Australia) today. They are currently very tight on me (measure true to size unlike many other brands) and not much room in the ball area or waist so hopefully I can stretch them out enough to be wearable as I don't plan to become a eunuch. The denim, contrasting with some other posts, in my view feels quite lightweight to me and isn't really slubby.

They will stretch a fair bit if you wear them for a few days, and they won't really shrink in the wash. They'll become a little bit slubby with wash and wear. They bleed quite a bit on the hands, but don't lose a lot of indigo in the wash.
