There are 'imperfections', like Natalie Dormer's nose, which are actually forms of super-perfection in context, and then there are the baggy, dried out wrinkles that accompany only the decay of age or disease.

No, I get the importance of lush, plump lips. My point is that a big mouth does not necessarily accompany them and is itself an unattractive feature. You never hear anyone say: "Oh my god, look at the size of the mouth on her . . . HOT!"

No you got that wrong, sorry. The search for perfection (e.g. the anal nit-picking that you exhibit on a daily basis, particularly when it comes to women) is a form of compensation on the part of the perfection seeker to help him overcome some feelings of failures in the same area (e.g. physical appearance). The phenomenon may well be unconscious.

Considering that the overwhelmingly plentiful criticisms of my looks have never phased me from posting pictures, your theory sounds awfully unpersuasive. I suppose you could argue that I'm projecting a hidden distaste for myself onto women, but I think that would require a more complicated explanation than necessary. After all, wouldn't such an insecurity make most sense to project onto other men?

Anyway, the simplest explanation is that it's perfectly natural for people to be selective with respect to who they find attractive and I am only exercising that perogative. The true puzzle is why so many SFers lavish praise on every single woman in every single photograph posted.
