The Jean Shop version has been washed and looks amazing from those pictures.

Is it more expensive than the regular filson, I mean if I wanted to get one and have it look like that would it be okay to just buy the filson and wash it?

It shipped out today. That's actually the premium version of the YYF Velocity but I got the regular version. I hotlinked the images though and they blocked it so I found another pic which is slightly different than the one I got. I am kind of hoping to turn down the responsiveness a little, but it's been so long since I last yo'ed that I doubt it will make much difference until I get a few months of practice in.

It has been a few years since i seriously threw. A buddy of mine (also a sufu user who hasn't posted in a year) who works at this boutique in town is pretty solid. I go to the store when he's bored since it's slow as hell and throw around. Once i get this he's going to catch me back up with some solid tricks.

I've been wanting one for about 6 or 7 months but the last one I had was a Yomega X-Brain back in 1998 or 1999. If anything the internet will be a great resource to have this go-round. There are videos everywhere, so I think I'll be able to master basic tricks fairly quickly and move on to the good stuff by the summer.

Did you just try to make yoyo-ing sound cool right now?

Just got a pair of 19cm MIJs about a week ago, nothing too special but it's my first real attempt at breaking in some nice selvedge so I'm pretty excited. I'll post pics elsewhere as they progress!

Did you buy selvage diors? They're like $150 more than normal dior 19cm mij. Are you sure your's are selvage? Not that it matters as the diors is about the cut and fit. They still break in nice as you can see from some pics in the denim thread

I got mine for 240 off FS, I guess I kind of assumed they were for whatever reason but what would be the best way to tell? Probably something I should have researched a little more before I bought but you're right - I love the fit and I'm already seeing the outline of some wallet fade so I'm pretty happy either way.

Great, man. That's what matters. Selvage isn't that important.

Nah. I used to to throw my yoyo in 6th grade by the portables before the bell. Kids would compete to have the newest tricks and everything. It's kinda like breakdance/freestyle battles, only more childish. Kiya introduced raw denim to the yoyo world. It will never be the same.
