Yes, Aero makes one beautiful jacket. But the horsehide is motorcycle grade and can be uncomfortably stiff even after breaking in. I'd recommend the goatskin as a tough yet wearable skin, unless you are planning to be in a situation in which you might end up skittering your back on pavement.

Thanks j. I don't ride. I just like vintage and vintage-styled moto togs. I also have a vintage 70s highway patrol jacket. I used to have some 70s Chippewa engineer boots, I wish I'd kept them. They were pretty beat up though, I wore them for years.

The Aero jacket is pretty short, so I don't have the problem of the front poking me.

minya, thanks!

As much as I despise Nazis (as if most people don't), i really like the Luftwaffe jackets shown on history preservation. http://historypreservation.com/hpass...landing2_2.php

The erich hartmann one looks splendid. The only problem is finding $750 to spend on them.

So the way I see it. We get into a fight. I leave the fight pants-less and you leave it jacketless? Who leaves with the black eye and no wallet?

Really nice jacket. What size did you order compared to your regular suit size/measurement?

Thanks guys.

Luc, I gave them my chest measurement and sleeve measurement. They also asked my height. I wish I'd thought to give them my neck measurement as well, as I have a thickish neck, but I don't normally close my collar anyway. They will cut their jackets to your measurements at no extra charge.

It won't make you feel any better, but Hartmann flew exclusively on the Eastern Front.

Love the jacket. It looks cool now, but after a season of hard wear, it's going to be ******* breathtaking.
