Man RRL is def luxe!

Some RRL is definitely luxe but it does seem a bit more Americana and less Miami Vice that we’re used to seeing Regis in.

My tuxedo pants that I wore for my wedding are from RRL.

I thought RRL was the Americana and vintagey looking line? You mean RLPL or something?

Nope. I was surprised too but they are formal tuxedo pants with grosgrain stripes, side adjusters, and in a mohair/wool fabric. The tag is RRL and I got them at Mr. Porter so they’re legit.

IDK, man. I like workwear, but those are charicatures of work boots. Are they White’s?

They were made by Frank's Boots. Frank used to manage Nick's boots with his brother, NIck. I understand what you are saying regarding authentic workboots. I already have a pair of Viberg Contractors that are straight, well-built workboots. What I wanted was a shoe that was built on the same last as a workboot and "overbuilt" with the same specs and materials. I'm not going to be putting out forest fires or felling lumber. I'm going to wear them a few days a week to work at a hardware and paint store. I know they are different and not everyone's cup of tea, but they are exactly what I asked Frank for, so I give him high marks for his custom work and his ability to create a boot last for people with tough to fit or injured feet. The leather stitchwork is outstanding and the double soles are absolutely bomb-proof. If they look like a "caricature" of workboots, well, that's kinda what I wanted. A totally custom casual homage to "work" as I transition into retirement.

Fair enough :) That has to be satisfying to have such a specific request and have your boots come out exactly as you imagined. The construction looks superb. At least you’ll be wearing them for actual work!

I just like their Made in USA boots. I do have lots of Purple Label Linen items. PL is one of the only brands I know of with great quality linen print shirts and I don’t know if their pants and TF pants are made in the same place but the cuts are almost the exact same thing
