Don't be silly.

I'm planning to wear these items with black espadrilles.

Margiela Labeled Passport Wallet

No markings on exterior, thinking I'll take it into the city for monogramming. However my initials are ID, I don't want people to think my wallet has the abbreviation for "identification" on it. Using my middle name would make it IDD. Thoughts? Should I legally change my name for monogramming purposes?

The great Norm Macdonald's take:

All her stuff is interesting; I'm a big fan of the original Rosen line, but her Rosen-X technical stuff is great too; I like less of her more 'normal' Rosen-S line... and the really cool thing is that she will customize anything. https://rosen-store.com/
Waiting on 2 stuff to get customized. But with current issue in China, I guess my order will be delayed for a while

To be honest, I've never cared from monogramming for the same reason I've never cared to obvious branding. It's always seemed like a distraction from the things that make an article appealing to me in the first place: the styling and/or the quality. I understand that branding is often a part of what makes certain styles appealing to the people that appreciate them, but I don't personally find appeal there.

To my mind, if something is nice it's nice, regardless of what brand is on it. If you have to flash the brand for people to think it's good it's likely that you just paid too much to tell people you can afford to waste your money. A monogram, to me, is just assuming that your initials (not even your name, but just your initials) holds the same degree of clout, and I see as self-fellating to a tremendous degree.

No one is getting you wallet confused with yours. No one is throwing their wallets into a communal pool or down on the bar with a bunch of others for everyone to sort out. You don't need a monogram to tell which wallet is yours in any situation I can conceive that a person who spends the dough to monogram an already designer wallet would find themselves in.

I like the history of monogrammed travel luggage and since this is a passport wallet I think its a fun way to reference a bygone Era. Also it is very plain on the outside almost looking like a restaurant check book, I think adding the name will fix that.

Close your eyes and tell me what year this was made.

There was a great clutching of pearls upon its release, but the prose is oddly comforting, like a weighted blanket. An old standby.

NOS selvedge wool (!) E1 pants by Engineered Garments. Feels like a cloud’s dream of cashmere. Just oddly nice, and an e-thrift to boot.

That looks like a remake of one of their OG designs. Do you like it? How does it fit on you and the rest of your wardrobe? Some of the remakes of their iconic designs has me nostalgic for vintage OG Helmut Lang stuff.
