Krane always looks great until the eye stumbles on all the frivolous buttons, strips, latches and frou-frous. It's really too bad IMO because the base garments look to be very well made and cut.

+1 i don't like these small button details, excessive.

When I had my Krane Jonas I ******* loved it. So warm and cool, but it just never fit quite right. I used to own the mathias too and that was a great coat too.

I have to disagree with you here - and I hate over-designed garments - a recent hooded varsity with leather sleeves and toggles nearly made my blind with rage (not kidding - this monstrosity actually existed.). The jacket pictured is just a hooded military field jacket in a fairly standard double breasted configuration. The only "extraneous" details are the extra set of buttons, and it makes sense that they are on a leather strip, which distributes the tension against the wool more evenly. There is also leather reinforcement in the back, and then the enf of the additonal reinforcement stud. I've had numerous buttons just pop off of jackets because they are just sewn directly onto the wool, so I appreciate the attention to functionality. If anything, I think that it would fair to call Krane outerwear "overengineered", which is quite different from being overdesigned. For me, calling Krane overdesigned is sort of like saying that backing buttons are an overdesign. For me, a lot of the details are things that should not have been left out in other garments. For example, a lot of outerwear actually needs a backing strip behind the buttons, and probably also a backing button, in many cases. "Overdesign" is an extraneous detail that is not functional, muddles the concept, and is an aesthetic afterthought. Yoox abounds with examples.

The cuffs are actually working cuffs with studs.

Of course, I really like designers like Christopher Raeburn, and repurposed materials, and so am inclined to like this type of thing, so ymmv.

A rare instance of the "notify me if this size becomes available" option paying off. It was one of the few good items from the Silent sale on MyHabit last month (it was one of the pieces the Artist Formerly Known as tween_spirit was taken by) and accordingly sold out within a couple of hours. I got an email on Tuesday that my size was available, so I picked it up.

I'm really liking the cut of the body. The way the shawl collar sort of transitions to the asymmetrical hem is perfect for that non-committed, toes-in-the-water foray into wannabe Jedi territory.

Do you know the name of those silent pants? And how sizing runs? Saw them on yoox, but wasn't sure which pair they were.

No idea, the shirt and pants I ordered 2 weeks ago but due to the storm in the east coast had my order canceled. Will let you know when it comes in this time.
I hope they fit or back to the drawing boards.
