Chisel toe

What do you mean? A pair of black cap toes are sort of a necessity and this last is one of my favorites. Would you rather have a super round one? 337 last is a pretty damn good blend of modern/trad.

This is the way black cap toes should be - sleek & elegant. They'd look terrible with a round wide toe, just like a casual boot looks out of place with a sleek chisel toe

Thanks GDL, that's what I was thinking!

I consider the C&J 337 or Lobb 7000 a great last for a black captoe.

Ok, I thought that might be the name for it, but I wasn't sure.

Anyway, it's a perfectly cromulent shoe style, and it seems to be universally accepted in the MC world.

Yea toasty I like the AE's as well, besides the blucher. I love Bals for black cap toes. It was mine vs the 'Belgrave' which is a punched toe (the top shoe in your pic) and the sleekness of the regular cap toe won out for me.

wtf is this - left shoe is a derby, right shoe an oxford? :eh:

I won't even comment on preferring AE to C&J, that's just... well... I said I won't comment

I just got my C&J hand grade, brand new from UK retailer for for $572 shipped. English footwear is actually a lot more affordable if you get from UK and find a place that A. gives free shipping and B. ships royal mail so you'll get no customs charges.

I know, still twice the price of AE on discount....but with C&J hand grade you're definitely getting twice the shoe IMO.
