Not just workwear, but "conservative" fashion in general. The board seems a bit more willing to try new things than before.

Yeah, true. I guess you're a good example. Seems like you get a lot fewer "u look lyke a faggoty faggot u faggot lol" comments when you post fits these days, than you did a few years back?

I miss Hejfina ... Especially since Chicago has shit for SW&D boutiques, and the few that are around don't carry much.

The stores in Chicago really took a big hit, more so than most cities I would say. Along with Hejfina, Jake also closed.

Correction to my earlier post--Denim Bar is still around (altho it's stock brands are not as good as they once were); it's Mauro's shop Farinellis that disappeared. Mauro was originally running Denim Bar.

Jake closed, but I miss Hejfina more. Plus, Jake's closing was shrouded in mystery and intrigue.

For sure, though my taste (and personality) becoming better must have something to do with it ...

This is pretty close. I remember when I first started posting, APCs were the gold standard and saucemaster was the king of SW&D. A lot of people were into Japanese denim too. Dior was always pretty popular because I remember I bought my first pair like 3-4 years ago after seeing them here. For the most part I think the denimheads have moved on. The forum is far less denim centric than it used to be, both in terms of fits and thread discussions.

W+H was popular before 08-09. I'd say late 06 early 07 was when they started to get hyped.

This is true. The forum heavily favored "timeless" fashion. Although BrianSD was always pretty good at trying new things.

I think someone forgot the Thom Browne/Band of Outsiders boom from 18 or so months ago in the trend analysis. I think it would be interesting to see how the WAYWT uniforms change in relation to what starts showing up on mannequins at Urban Outfitters/H&M. Interesting page of this thread.

Agreed. I think Thom Browne is heavily hyped but not widely adopted, whereas BoO qualifies for "uniform" status.
