I know, right? I hate reading posts with substance about clothes. My world starts to crumble if I read too many consecutive posts that can't be summarized with "Ballerswaglux BOW BOW BOW!"

My mom likes "Michael Mandela"...nice you remembered that quick bit

Well what would I do with clothes that don't fit my lifestyle? I'd have a closet full of clothes that I wouldn't wear

Basics are not a waste of time because you prefer to spend on your money on shoes and sweaters/APC and I would rather not. Like I said before no one is going to care what I am wearing...outside of this little niche. I wear it cause it's me and it does fit into what I would call my lifestyle

yes, the academic discourse is overwhelming for myself...

obviously we all come to style forum for different reasons. For me its about the clothes and that's it. I could give two shits about designers and their 'colorful' histories. take the pseudo intelectual babble about designers, histories, and other metacrap to the "Random Fashion Thoughts" thread. thanks!

Yeah have been looking for something similar since I now have a lot of trousers and not enough blazers to match which is what I'm going to pretend it is... the fabric clinched it for me.

I don't get why people go into hissy fits when people attempt to become "pseudo-intellectual" about clothing design. You would think people would like to talk about shit besides their different colorways of oxfords and happy socks.

pseudo-intellectual is a term with a certain amount of bullshit baked in neh? I certainly don't mind personally, but I think for me problems begin when the originator starts to confuse pseudo-intellectual with actual-intellectual. i think the only person i really buy actual-intellectual from is fuuma :)

Yes, but there's a difference between the Style Zeitgeist-caliber of babble and what Synth and Kelv were doing. Someone sharing their take on what the appeal of a certain label is barely constitutes what you're describing.

And you're right: Different reasons attract people to SF. So why instigate just because some posters are engaging in a discussion that doesn't align with why you come here?

    yes good post.

If you actually bothered to read the post above it's pretty contrary to the somewhat caricatured SZ pseudo-intellectualism.

There's a difference between wank and thought, and i hope you're not going to reject the latter. Being a scientist and all.

Old Margiela was so much better than new Margiela.*

    * I'd insert a sarcasm indicator, but I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about, so I don't even know what number to put.
I'm pretty sure we've already established that they're quilted vests.
Are you really so insecure that you feel the need to measure it?
