I figure its better to try the smaller size first because you know if it's too small but I'm never sure if I have room to size down.

Hmm... I remember a post in which Kelvin said he had to size up for the boots as compared to the sneakers? Of course I can't find it now ...

haha thanks. too bad i'm gone tomorrow and it won't be two months till i start wearing them. i hope they go well with grey/charcoal/black denim. when i tried them on today i was surprised to find that they can be tucked under jeans (not that i plan to wear them that way often) with quite narrow leg openings (i.e. my levi 511 with 7' openings) with no visible break in the silhouette but maybe once i start moving around it'll be a different matter

totally unrelated random GAT thought: diligent use of shoe trees can keep the sneaks in shape for much, much longer than without shoe trees, so you don't end up with gats looking like these after a few months of wear

+1 There is no way I could size down 1 on MMM, I'm an 11.5 and I take a 45 in Lo sneaks, 44 in Hi sneaks, 45 in Shoes / Boots / Sidezips

it may also depend on the size of your feet. i mostly look for mmm boots in 40/41 and it's not uncommon to see buyers describe them as 'running large' (quick search yields these results:

http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=132972

) but i can imagine the need to size up diminish as foot size gets larger
