1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    I love a good end-of-summer sale!

First off, a cotton jacket from Boglioli, with patch pockets. My first sport coat, and I needed something quite casual, and so I thought: 'Hey! Boglioli?'. Then I bought a down gilet, just for kicks.

Next off, two pairs of chinos from Entre Amis. Nothing out of the ordinary. But I'm trying to build up a wardrobe with all the basics right now, so this'll do for now.

Lastly, a pair of chukka boots from Herring for those colder days over here. Also, a pair of sneakers from Superga, even though summer is coming to an end.

Still waiting for all these items to arrive, can't wait to try them all on. I'm praying that, at the very least, the jacket will fit well.

Hoping it'll fit well, so I'll be able to contribute with an actual picture of it :)

Thumbs up to these two brands. Their packaging is just top notch. Nothing but good reviews....

Not very Sartorial, I know, but quite possibly the largest purchase I'll ever make. [IMG]

As we'll no longer be renting I'm doing a lot of mental number crunching right now about all the money we're saving long term in the interest of validating 3 pairs of Vass derbies... and 2 pairs of trousers... and some ties from Hober... maybe a few shirts... [IMG]

The housing market in Greater Toronto is going bonkers right now. When we started looking I was sure that we'd end up in a townhouse or a semi (duplex) at best. I'm really happy to have found a detached home where not only do we not share a wall with anyone but we have a full back yard. The house was built in the 50's so the bedrooms are relatively small but the trade off is, by greater Toronto standards, an enormous yard where we can eventually add on, although there's already more than enough room for just the two of us. This is my first property and I feel very very fortunate. Thanks for indulging me.

Congrats!! I'm still in my "first property" 12 years later, but we got super lucky and scored our virtual dream-house on our first try. Looking back we were so, so lucky and fortunate - here's hoping yours works out just as well. Enjoy!
