1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

If someone would have told me when I left the house today that I'd come home with a mannequin, I'd have called then @#$% crazy.

But I swing my local Nordstroms to find it went out of business - poof! - and is already nothing but fixtures. I mosey in just to look around* and among the endless tables, mirrors, display racks, are a bunch of mannequins - lots of the plastic "fashion" kinds, a bunch of more "static", classic types, but one with wooden articulating arms on a stand. I don't know from where, but something inside said "you should get it", and, well, here it is.

I suppose when I do my winter clean out in the near future, he'll get some modeling duty. Other than that, maybe for halloween? The "creepy sartorial" thread? He's too nice to be junked, check out the work on the fully articulating hands and fingers.

(*if you're in Orlando see my post in the PSA thread about details, as of today they've got a ton of stuff going for peanuts)

The final piece of my recent "Help Save the B&S through Luxeswap campaign:" an Italian wool jacket in greenish brown with red and ecru check - bought from no less a sartorial authority than Henry Carter (thanks, Jason )

I'm new to the suit world. Getting out of the military in a couple months so I'm building an adult wardrobe now. Picked up this suit today for $178 including pants. I know it's prob not a great suit but was it a decent deal?

That is a fantastic purchase. You didn't say what you paid for it, but I doubt it was anything close to what I paid for mine!

Thanks! - I paid $50. I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned it, but I just googled and - geez - they ain't cheap! $50 is give away pricing (and mine happened to be the most expensive of the lot, all the rest were like $20-$40).

I am afraid the Lauren line - not owned by Ralph btw - won't get you much praise here, but if you're happy with the suit and fit, it's a good start.

I bought mine from these people: http://www.proportionlondon.com - They supply pretty much every high end store in London. Mine cost over £500... So you really did get a bargain (and mine has no head!)

Geez, I wish there was a way I could have scored for the styleforum vendors - but shipping would have made it not worth it. If I was thinking, I would have taken a picture that would have made you drool. There were probably, all told, 80+ of various types, and most were $20, $30. You store owners (b&m or virtual) could have totally made out, it sucks you can't take advantage of it.
