What exactly is the appeal of an untipped tie? Seems more fragile to me

I think it's a nice artistic sartorial flourish. If you're going bespoke Hober, go all the way and get something that doesn't look like you bought it OTR. The repp stripe, while nice, looks no different (to me) than a tie you can pickup at a 346 outlet.

But in all seriousness, I can understand why you might not do hand rolled edges on the maccales, I think it's a slightly less formal look.

Hope you're kidding. Much nicer fabric on this one than a 346 number. Not to mention the MTM width/length

I don't have the benefit of seeing the fabric first hand, but I have no doubt it's better quality.
