DAAAAAMMMMNN!!! that's awesome. what are the AD's discounting JLC's by these days? i'm "kinda" saving up for a Master Hometime [IMG]
Don't know about all of 'em, but on at least some the discounts can exceed 50%. Other recent (weekend) purchases were -Two Luigi Borelli belts from Filene's Basement. One is sky blue elasticized cotton webbing with a navy stripe down the middle, suede ends, and a solid nickel-plated brass buckle. The other is a canvas tube (really nice canvas, nicer than any I've seen recently except perhaps that on my Dunhill Motorities messenger bag) with tan leather reinforcement. I bought it because I think it'll compare contrast well with the new shoes, infra. -Cotton grey glen check "walk shorts" from J. Press. (Whose staff, BTW, is insufferable.) -From brooksbrothers.com (and awaiting delivery) those spectator double-monks, brass knobbed trees for them, a pocket square, and a BB Black Fleece OBCD.

So I just bought a couple of AE's (hey now, I just graduated, looking for a job) from the tent sale. I got a black pair of Soho's which look fine and a mocha pair of Dryden. They look nice, but have a couple of flaws. I'm not sure if they're seconds, being as I believe they're discontinued, but they were only $109, so they probably were. Anyway, take a look.

One silly issue is that the soles are entirely different shades...strange, huh?
The bigger concern, IMO, is that the top of the sole on the inside of the shoe has some damage. Pictured (on the left) is some scraping, as well as a definite notch. On the right side of the pic is a slice into the sole, that is only skin-deep, really.

On top of all that, the box came beat to shit (I can put my hand through a fold of it). I'm just wondering; is this basically to be expected of AE seconds? Is there any reason I should try to exchange them or anything? If so, would I need to pay shipping either way? I don't think the shoe is structurally compromised, so help me out with whether these are very minor problems or not. Thanks.

Finally got a chance to visit Everard's Clothing in Glover Park (next to Sky Shoes) today, had an enjoyable chat with Louis and came home with a pink linen shirt labeled "Xacus" (never heard of them before, but they have nice fabric, good construction, and shanked buttons) and three Lehner pocket squares. He also literally gave me the white-with-blue-polka-dots linen Holliday & Brown square out of his blazer, after I asked him if he had any more that I could buy. Gave it to me.

(They have some Finnamore shirts for cheap, but none that were in my size.)
