    Zara cream heavy shawl-collar cardigan

These are damn pretty cool, esp. for the price. I was thinking about getting one myself.

One oughta be 110% sure in his heterosexuality before putting anything resembling this on. Or is it the other way around ? [IMG]

I doubt if even my girlfriend would wear that.

    They're here!!

My new Rider Boot Co. wingtip boots [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Just tore them out of the box and had a quick go round the living room. A tad wide but I new that would be true (I have b-width feet)- but it'll be winter socks for these anyway.

Sorry for the crappy pics but it's I have the time for at the moment.

RBWB1's in Dark Cognac/Bombay calf; 42 last, storm welt, triple leather sole.

Though the quality is not overhelming, I found it rather inexpensive for being such a hard to find and and in terms of comfort (as far as comfort can go with these) well constructed item. The piquee front is held by a buttoning strap that can be also used to hold a cummerbund or waistocat in place and the shirt has a vertical vent in the lower chest area to make it easier to put in the dress studs, of course there's a band in the neck area to keep the tie under the coat's collar. That reminds me of new patent pumps and velvet slippers. The latter shall be with me in a few days, as for the pumps we'll see when they're ready. I "need" red tartan trousers for evening wear and a woolen and/or silk formal waistcoat till mid oder late november. A deeply cut, lapeled black waistcoat is harder to find than I thought.
Do you have some opera pumps custom made for you? If so, where is this service available? With regard to patent leather opera pumps in general, do you know any other manufacturer than BB Peal & Co, Shipton & Heneage and Bowhill & Elliot who sells those?

Got a YOOX package yesterday with a couple of pairs of Adriao & Sons casual pants (linen, linen& cotton). I am very pleased with the purchase. Don't know who made them, but the quality seems to be on par with Incotex level.

I've been on a bit of a spending spree this week (for me). I bought an AE Mora in brown suede and an AE Manhattan in saddle brown calf. I Also bought a Sulka sport jacket made by Saint Andrews and some vintage abalone cuff links.

I too have been on a spending spree, having realised that I (for myself anyway) have bought very little in the last year (apart from a beautiful Ede & Ravenscroft jacket at Christmas with some moleskin trousers and matching waistcoat from Clarke & Dawe.)

In the last few weeks, I have bought:

5 Lewin shirts in variety of patterns in their opening promotion here in Leicester
4 Dior silk hankies that I got for £5 each in Jethwa Tailors in Leicester, as he wanted rid of them
3 assorted pocket squares and 2 pairs of cufflinks from Kent Wang (all beautiful!)
a pair of 1971 (my year of birth) 5 pence coin cufflinks on eBay (awaiting delivery)
a pair of antiqued tan oxford Grenson masterpieces on eBay for £100 (they are beautiful and much nicer than the pictures suggested, I bought them to 'flip' them here, but they are keepers)
a pair of Tyrwhitt (Loake) dark tan suede brogues, also on eBay at around half price (awaiting delivery)
4 vintage Tootal scarves from various sources
a charcoal grey Crombie overcoat from House of Fraser in Leicester in their closing, (will they/ wont they) down sale ( a little big a round the middle, so its off to Barry Coleman to work his magic; ‘waist it’ and add a black velvet collar)
    Lewin MOP collar stays
Various Pantherella/ Pringle and other socks (maybe 10 pairs for me in all)
    6 pairs of Thurston braces
a pair of fishtail backed navy blue cords and a Breton shirt on eBay (awaiting delivery)
a pair of Wayfarer II’s in a black frame (awaiting delivery)
    3 ties in Lewin’s sale
a purple Shetland wool cardigan (RL Polo) in TK Maxx
a new collarless dinner shirt from the Vintage Shirt Company to replace the one that went with my ex (who was kind enough to bin it)
a Crombie navy chalkstripe 2 button sb 2 piece on eBay (a punt at £50, awaiting delivery)
a beautiful scarlet Jasper Conran merino wool v neck sweater from Debenhams
Derek Rose pjs in Coleman’s sale
a purple lambs wool scarf from House of Fraser
Numerous hankies (blowers) on eBay (well ‘bandanas’ really, but they will suffice and I liked the colours)
Having given up the pretence that I will quit smoking any time soon, a new Zippo lighter
    a Sigma fountain pen
a few pairs of silk knots and a pair of purple and silver coloured cufflinks in Lewin’s
5 pairs of cedar shoe trees on eBay
Some Royal Ulster Constabulary GC buttons for my blazer (I was 2 short of having enough)
3 silk pocket squares from Woods of Shropshire
A vintage suitcase on eBay (old British Army issue) (awaiting delivery, another ’punt’, but worth taking a chance on)
    2 iphone cases
A selection of vintage collar studs on Ebay (awaiting delivery)
2 sets of Pecksniff’s cologne/balm/bath stuff (Fern and Citrus) from TK Maxx

and above all a 3 piece bespoke suit from Coleman’s of Leicester. (Awaiting first fitting)

I have also been doing some maintenance, so I have had most things dry cleaned, some alterations done to my smoking jacket and my trews, as both were a little large, had 5 pairs of shoes resoled, and finally got round to sending my stiff collars away for a professional laundering and starch. I have also sent my Conway Stewart Silver Duro fountain pen back to the manufacturers with a rather snotty letter; let’s see what comes of that! The summer stuff has been packed away and I have even brought out my collection of fedora and trilby hats.

My Omega watch needs attention, so that’s a job for this week.

In addition, my mother was kind enough to send me 3 pairs of pjs, a dressing gown and a pair of Pakeman leather slippers during my recent hospital stay. At least I looked good!

Sadly my father has already given away his 125 year old, Irish officers blackthorn stick which I had my eye on, but he assures me he will ask around the old boys network and source one.

Edit: The £50 Crombie suit I took a chance on on eBay arrived today. The bloody thing is brand new without tags! They are £550 or thereabouts, so a bargain has been had there. It still has the pockets stitched shut! It is is a wonderful very soft worsted cloth, with a natty dark pink lining. A few pounds to Barry Coleman to take a little out of the trouser waist and take up the sleeves and its perfect.

I don't think the seller, who was new to eBay, knew what she had!

    ^ nice.

I'll play along and I will do so keeping in mind PG's suggestion of limiting the list to the recent Calendar month.

September's tally (including great deal commentary):

RLPL Blue cashmere sweater (scored at RL outlet for $90 from $695)
RLPL mocha silk trousers (scored in the B&S, $65 from $450 retail)
Nudie Slim Jim Dry Broken Twill Jeans (from forum affiliate Self Edge)
RLBL brown slik knit tie w/ square end
Polo RL skinny 3" Solid Navy repp tie
Polo RL Navy silk knit tie

October to date (and hopefully this is it for this month):
RLPL Turn Down Collar pleated Formal Shirt (from the 'bay including recent 30% off promotion. $110 from $425)
