1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

+1 Was just thinking that. Am I right in thinking that leather may not be available any more as IIcea are no more :(

RogerP, that is a great looking pair of shoes. You nailed it with the leather and style.

Kev, I believe they have another source.

Thanks for the comments guys. kev and gyasih - you're both right. Vass is reported to have sourced a new supplier for the museum calf, but the source of this particular example (Ilcea) is no more.

I'm curious - does anyone have a name for this style? Not the cap toe, but where the only other piece on the upper is around the vamp and the cuff and is curved with that single downward point? The EG Galways I jut parted with had a similar design (on a boot, below) and I was wondering if it had a name or term for it.
    Like the Galways here: [IMG]

X-post from the G&G thread. I'm quite ecstatic to join the Wigmore club as these have been my grail boots since I first saw pictures of them. Shout out to Nick as usual for his always excellent service. Quite a way to start my weekend as I get to visit with Phillip Carr tomorrow at Leather Soul. It will be difficult working the rest of the day with these guys staring at me from my desk whispering "take us out somewhere nice."

Thanks G and Dan....I'm quite thrilled with them. Now I need a new grail boot to covet.

Have you ever considered something from Saint Crispin's?

Haven't seen a model yet that's caught my eye...grail items you just know when you see them. I'm sure my visit with Phillip Carr at the StC trunk show tomorrow will open up a world of options.

    Barba and Kamakura Shirts

My favorite is the dark denim Barba

Absolutely, have fun at the StC trunk show. If you don't see a grail boot, there's a good chance you'll see a grail shoe.

The summer finally "broke" here in Florida yesterday. I was actually able to walk around downtown last night without sweating through everything. We're a long way from "colder" but "less hot" is better than nothing!.

+nice kops, I love that micro gingham!

At least you have the island breeze, right? I'm in central Florida where we get all the heat and humidity of the latitude but virtually none of the benefit of the coast (wind). I know, I know, the grass is always greener elsewhere and I should stop bitching and just move...
