    I bought this Paul Fredrick sportcoat for USD 90.

    The description in PF site says
    "Tailored of our premium blend of 55% Italian silk/45% Italian wool for year-round comfort. Classic pattern with burgundy, olive and taupe color tones. Two button closure, notch lapel with side vents. Two flap pockets. Fully lined. Imported. "

    A decent deal for a beater I hope.

    Sunglasses=Oliver Peoples with brown photo lenses
    Messenger Bag=Kenneth Cole, not bad for the price
    Boots=Laoke from Herring Shoes
    Watch=Archimede Pilot Chrono

    I think we should all pretend these never happened. [IMG]

    I've been doing my bit to help stimulate the economies as well. My wife, too. She's bought like half a dozen dresses and maybe a dozen pairs of shoes. Yeesh. In the last six weeks I've bought:

    MTM Navy linen suit
    Paul Stuart Flannel windowpane suit
    Glen plaid linen sportcoat
    Isaia wool/cashmere blazer
    Paul Stuart linen/cotton blazer
    Paul Stuart/Grenson crepe sole unlined gray suede chukkas
    Hickey Freeman/Loro Piana Rain System linen coat
    New glasses and new sunglasses

    And that's not to mention the rather excessive amounts I'm spending on new products for Howard Yount, both on new designs of existing products and new categories as well.

    wow, great purchases-- like the oliver peoples glasses.

    Jayjay, thanks for the note on the black fleece suit-- was kinda nervous about that impulse buy, now I'm more confident I'll use it more often as a suit.

    i made my final purchase of suit/sportcoat from Lance and i will say that this was what i was finally looking for.

    RLPL charcoal houndstooth lavender windowpane 100% cashmere sportcoat

    Belvest wool/cashmere gold/olive glenplaid sportcoat

    (Belvest is unbelievable in quality. i always read here that it was notches below the 2nd tiers like rlpl, isaia, barbera, zegna napoli, and the ilk. like some claimed it was on par with baldessarini and some corneliani. no way, Belvest (at least my coat) is definitely up there.
    these two are so decadent, i am done for in sportcoats and suits now. all i have to do is unload all that i am trying to unload. i am finally set on my sportcoat wardrobe.

    huh? really, not a big fan of madras shorts with cargo pockets? I thought these would be great with a solid polo shirt and flip flops in the summer weather.

    that sounds very A&F style. IMO shorts are not favorable, but if you feel you can pull them off, more power to you!

    And then my blue Hobers arrived. Ordered 28 Sept 08, shipped 20 April 09, arrived today 1 May 09. I am pretty happy with them. I think my next series will be green. From left to right, Irish poplin print, english woven stripe, and grenadine.

    Great ties.

    Thanks! I'm building a collection of soporific classics. I'm going to hold off on another order until David post the new silks on the website. There should be new Irish poplins.
