Acqua di Parma "Bergamotto de Calabria" - any reason why you chose this particular one for your summer perfume?

    Thanks, in advance!

I have no local access to Creed or Tom Ford, which leaves AdP the only non-mass market alternative as far as scents are concerned. I like the refreshing smell of citrus, which made me choose Bergamotto di Calabria over Arrancia de Capri and the like.

I was going to get a new pair of shoes or some Drakes' ties, but instead I made an internet impulse purchase...

For my money, Sailor pens are the best everyday writing pens...I have been using fountain pens almost exclusively for 20 years and of all the brands I do, or have, owned, a Sailor 1911 is always within reach.....IMO, of course..

I love fountain pens, though I'm still using my newbie Lamy Safari.

Still trying to decide how I feel about bottle ink vs. cartridges. I love the bottled ink, but it can be a pain to refill sometimes, especially given that I travel.

Just out of curiosity. In reference to ink pens, why is there a division between everyday and a special occasion pens? I mean, any ink pen does make a statement these days. Why not invest in one Montegrappa, ST Dupont, or Montblanc and carry it all along?

I think there's a difference between taking notes in a board meeting with my ballpoint waterman and if I came in with that ink pen showed above.

It depends on the statement you're trying to show, and in my spot that ink pen would be pretentious at a board meeting that I'm not hosting. If it was for the office desk, to use in front of customers and such than it might work.

That's my take on difference between everyday pen and other more high end ink pens.

Than I agree, invest in a nice ballpoint or fountain pen and carry it everywhere. Those fancy dip in ink pens are reserved for rare occasions of personal use such as signing thank yous or writing hand written letters

Thanks much for the kind responses. [IMG]
As for myself, I turn to Voyage D'Hermes for summer perfume.
Though mass marketed, the citrus scent is quite refreshing let alone lost-lasting.

Lamy Safaris are great! It's the only fountain I've bought/owned, but I use it for everything, a great pen.

Definitely. I love mine. I do want something a bit nicer looking, but I love the way the Lamy writes--and if, perchance, I lose it, it's not the end of the world.
