    ^^ lovely ^^

yes, i have found that. I have some great items, but they can only be worn with one or two things. Like ed said, that greatly limits their use, because it like, hey didnt he just wear that.

I remembered though, i got an awesome navy SC from yoox, but it didnt fit. :(

I'll add to the Navy SC, I have three of different weights and fabrics that I use often and go to more than anything else. I've often been caught in the same loop as others here in buying first and thinking after to the point where some items never made it to the tailor and were given up as a lost cause. Some staple items never found way to my collection due to poor pre-planning and now I'm playing catch up. Flexable repp ties and straight brown SC are good examples of things I should have looked for but never noticed I was missing till reading and thinking, thanks SF for leading me all over the map. It's to easy to purchase an item without a good understanding of what or how it might fit into everything else in the closet.

However, my shoe collection has slowly become something but a loafer it shall never have.

As a side note there is a weatherman on during my morning breakfast routine whom has a checkered brown suit, I never notice other things he has but that suit seems to show up one a week and is a clear example of an item that, at best, could be worn once a month but the rotation is to small to have such a suit. Prior to SF I might not have thought much of it but everytime I see it I wonder who allows it to happen so often.

Can I ask you about the lapel width? It's pleasing to the eye. 4 inches? Or is it an optical illusion with the stripes?

No offense intended but the collar on this coat is horribly long.

A worsted wool navy jacket looks like an orphaned suit coat. Varying the fabric makes this confusion impossible.

This. Worsted wool is very tightly woven and has a fine finish. It's mainly used in citified business suits.

For SC's you want a more casual fabric. You want cotton, linen, or some kind of more textured wool. Or a blend of several of those depending on what the temperature will be.

It's not that bad. It's just a little old-fashioned and not much different from most other tweed odd jackets I have. I don't mind. I'm not too bothered about fashion when it comes to tweed jackets. The overall shape of the jacket is very good indeed, it fits well on the neck, shoulder and chest and that's what makes things work overall for a piece like this. If I had the lapels narrowed, the notch could be higher, but I'm not considering that right now.
