Thanks, J. By the way, in the last batch of ties I bought from you was a great Borrelli repp tie in plum and gold. When I wore it for the first time I passed through a park in downtown Helsinki. I was just minding my own business when a seagull took a dump on me. It landed straight in the middle of the tie. Nothing was to be done and so I threw it in a trash bin. Luckily it was such a beautiful day I got over it pretty quickly.

Trying my first Nato strap - a Maratec Bond strap. I'm not 100% sold on this color combo with my watch but I like the quality and the look in general. I don't wear steel bracelets and in the summertime leather straps just don't work - they get to stinking. Appreciate any input.

and solid pink beats solid blue.

actually, white shirts are not very popular in europa, imo.

fwiw, i find nato straps vulgar and cheapish. i prefer steel bracelets. each to his own.

Yes. (Though I like all my blues.)

    Pink is for girls.

It took me a long time to come around to trying one myself. I'm just not sure I'm digging this particular combination. It is practical and functional for summer wear, I'll tell you that much.

I'll never wear a metal band - not my thing.

With all that said, now that this is on my wrist, I'm wondering if the Nato thing might not be best reserved for older watches (smaller cases) where the contrast is lively; e.g. colorful red and blue bands with a vintage Seamaster. At least, from a style perspective.

Doug, it looks like you need to punch a hole in between what you're using now and the next tightest.

imo, this rules out some iconic watches.

from a style perspective... ...in any case.
