1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Very nice, Chorse. What size did you go with? I ordered one on the gamble that I should size up.

I'm fearing the worst about my experiment. But there was only the one size, so I took it. Hopefully mine will run a bit small while yours runs true to size.

Suit arrived today. I think it's a step below (maybe a half step) the top of the line Caruso I've seen, but still pretty nice. Slipped on the jacket quickly and it seemed relatively trim, maybe 17.75" shoulders, 40.5"chest, 38" waist.

    Some odds and ends.

    JCrew chinos

Polo RL chambray shirt, surprisingly slim fitting, no logo, great retro buttons

Polo RL ties, wool unlined Bleeker and a narrow bow tie, both made in Italy

And the big hit, Polo RL cashmere cardigan, size Large, but actually fits. Fantastic details, very, very soft, insane retail price. I figured it would be too big, but I'm pretty sure I'm keeping it:

Had to mention this one because I'm so excited about it. I took Norcal_1's advice and looked into purchasing the ultimate briefcase from...

... Glaser Designs - Transaction bag in "hand burnished espresso".

Now to endure the four-week wait until my bag is done.

I also had the most enjoyable forty minute talk with the owner, Myron Glaser, a true gentleman and a lot of fun to shoot the breeze with. For what it's worth, I had suggested to Mr. Glaser that we take serial pictures of the bag from creation to finished product, and he heartily agreed. So, if anyone is interested, I'll post the pictures from start to finish on styleforum if/when I get them?

BTW, nicest guy in the world. We talked for 40 minutes about politics, the economy, etc. before even getting to talking about leather goods and the like.

This is the color of the bag and the look, but mine is a little longer (transaction bag vs the deal bag featured in the picture). And for all you smart-asses, "that's what she said".

Very nifty, Alan. I look forward to seeing it WAYW. Seems like you've been more adventurous lately, and I have to say I approve.

    These look great!

    Thursday, ordering day:
Hirtl Bespoke lined three-fold tie in dark blue dupioni silk
Hirtl Bepoke bow tie made out of the excess fabric

    Friday, hosiery comparison day:
Falke OTC socks in ribbed navy pure wool
Falke OTC socks in ribbed navy pure cotton
Gallo OTC socks in plain navy 80/20 wool/nylon (nylon...shudder)

Whichever performs best will be ordered by the dozen in the future. I guess I'll go cotton for summer and wool for winter plus some additional wool/silk socks for formalwear, all Falke. I just can't get past those 20% of nylon...

    This one is great.

I bought a pair of gold/onyx cufflinks on sale at Ede recently. Their new line has a much thinner rim, so the old discontinued ones were being cleared out. Personally I prefer the slightly chunkier old ones for gold/onyx links, so it was a bargain. The new gold/MOP ones look wonderful with the thinner rims though.

    Pics?

Sure, I can take pics later. It's small thin - subtle. The white gold obviously makes it subtler than yellow or rose too.
