So I started with the Jos. A. Bank junk, and I'm phasing it out - I now have a couple of BB sportcoats, and a Crittenden Sport sportcoat/vest that I love, but haven't had the money to replace suits until recently.

Having said that, I just picked up a couple of Samuelson suits over the weekend. They're at the tailor now, and can't wait to get them back. I feel like I finally have a real wardrobe with this pickup.

Anyways, I spent about $850, before alterations, and picked up:

    - Navy Samuelson suit - all wool birdseye with a bit of roping on the shoulder. This is also my first venture into pants with side-tabs, and I'm looking forward to that experiment

    - Tan Samuelson suit - wool/linen with a very soft shoulder - a killer casual option. Also my first venture in the patch pocket field (shop owner said he went for patch pockets so the coat could double as an odd jacket)

    - Grey linen sportcoat - not sure of the maker (shop owner said its an italian company that makes pants for him, and plays around with some odd jackets). Soft shoulder and patch pockets on this too. Great travel/relaxed weekend piece.

I thought I missed his winter sale, but I just got lucky enough to wait until things were 80% off. He's also closing out his Aldens (says there's too many places in town that carry them), so if he has anything left in my size in a few weeks, I may grab some of those too.

I'll try to post pics once I pick everything up, but I couldn't wait to brag.

Thinking about special-ordering a grey 3-piece at the next Samuelson trunk show - these will be a good trial of different options, though.

Dark denim and grey flannel pants work well. Also lighter colored chinos. See aj_del's suede jacket thread for some good pictures.
