    BACK IN THE USA!!

Flew in yesterday morning, and have had a great time so far-- nice to be back in NoVA, even if it was just for the day.

    1. Picked up MTM isaia jacket from neiman marcus, and they did the softest shoulder possible for me. love it, and a trim fit-- taking to bergdorf next weekend for alterations and sleeve buttonholes.

    2. Stopped at storage for clothes to wear during my stay/ visit. Hoping the gray suit still fits :)

    3. steak at mortons. God bless the USA (not actually my photo-- iPhone hopefully tomorrow, droid couldn't get a shot this decent in a million years)

Friday-- on to Manhattan! Couple of pieces waiting for me at saks, looking forward to it!

salad-- nice bowtie. I restrained myself from buying a cashmere flannel gray bowtie, store brand, at neiman marcus yesterday. it was pure awesome, but to see the version i ordered from barneys first.

Mojitos in Old San Juan PR - heavy on the mint and extra muddled* Damn right that's a stem in there, gringo!

(*having had them at a number of places, these were the best pics but not the best tasting; those were by Ted at Marmalade who's secret-weapon preparation makes all the difference)

I hadn't heard of the Blue Parrot, did you mean The Parrot Club? If so, then yes - we stopped in briefly for some appetizers that were better than good though the mojitos were only average - but that didn't slow down the intake! :slayer:

Absolutely loved PR when I visited! Stayed at the new addition At The Wind Chimes Inn. Did you make it over to Barrachina for the original Pina Colada? Was DragonFly Too still in business?

Yes, both DragonFly and DragonFly Too were open. We had an early dinner there that was great. Actually, given the tapas like portions and our crew's willingness to explore the menu, we ended up dragging it out to about 3 hours of drinking and grazing. There was a "Yake Sake" cocktail that was sake + brandy and more that I really liked. I'll also point out that the eel sashimi was literally melt in your mouth delicious (with a minimum of sauce) - the best eel I think I've ever had. And the chorizo in the fried rice was a well balanced twist.

This is the PR appreciation thread, no? I would endorse the Ritz Carlton in San Juan any day of the week. Especially if you have kids. You never really have to leave.

I can't even try to follow that. :)

Couple of C&J belts, black leather and snuff suede and a couple more of Sam Hober's (a cashmere and a grenadine) popped through the door this morning.
