Thanks. My old lamp, which was movable, stood there for seven years and occupied more space. So, no problem for me.

I love watching people screwing in the Netherlands. Great post. Nice lamp.

There is the tendency, especially on drunken nights, to screw, nut and bolt. :foo:

These may be a little 'too much' for some here, but I love them... a pair of pre-owned but rather lovely glove-soft two-tone peccary Cap-toe Brogues from Moreschi, with minor - and I mean, minor - damage, $42 on ebay. Sometimes you can still find a bargain...

Like so many others, my Lindrick's from the Ralph Lauren 40+15% sale just arrived. Sigh. They're just as fantastic as I was hoping they'd be. "Stunning" is so overused, but you get an eyeful of this shell and it's, well, stunning .

And I think that's Harry's debut on SF.

First off, simply wonderful looking boots. And second, Harry seems to agree as well!

They really, really are. I'm going to see if I can get some pics later that capture the depth/quality of the shell - and these are straight out of the box, pre-patina! I can't imagine how great they'll be with some wear and care.

re: Speed hooks - I don't think so, I haven't seen them offered with them at all. Note that I have some boots with speed hooks and while I really like the practicality of them, they inevitably catch on and tear at the inside of the hems on my dress pants.

re: Harry - We had a grande, beloved Maine Coon named Bobby who is Harry's spirtual god-father: they're real crowd pleasers :) Note that off camera was a 1/2 Siamese Hemmingway cat whose nose and claws are just twitching at the smell of new leather in the house. Depending on his actions, he may not make it to show on SF except posthumously.

Not my plan, believe me: that's my wrist in the picture not my ankle! If you look at the jacket behind, you'd see that I'd have to be some serious contortionist to get my foot into that position...

Anyway, my shoes may be fantastic bargains, but I am nevertheless now feeling Lindrick lust...
