Spoo how do carminas rank on the shoe hierarchy I got eyes for the snuff chukkas.
Was wondering the same thing. You've experienced both Carmina's and C&J's now, which one would you say is the better bang for the buck. I'm looking at the Lowndes vs. the Carmina double monk.
I got my carmina monks this week.
Both make nice shoes, but Carmina is better bang for the buck. around C&J handgrade with nicer lasts.
Hendrix sums this up nicely
Exactly. I have not had them on out of the house yet, but so far, VERY impressed. The Simpson last is just perfect for me - sleek, elegant, chiseled toe... its really perfect. I think I have my favorite last yet. Seriously. The suede is very "wet" and has a perfect nap. I have always found my C&J at much lower price points, but I had no problem kopping these at full retail, and would do so again. Probably next week, LOL.
I've been wearing Crockett and Jones for years now and I feel that Carminas are better in terms of details. If you were to stack them against each other, the Carminas are equal to the Handgrades at a bit lesser price.
Now in the wild :
Thats what they say

I LOVE the eggplant one.
Purple? I see the colorscheme keeps expanding.
Hah. Sorry about that—trying something new... I'd call it "red cabbage red".
Not sure what there is to like here, but if you like Hermes, it must have been a good day for you.
Woot! Time to buy!
