I'm not really a tie wearer, well in fact I only had one normal tie (other than my bowtie), and I usually just wear my shirts open necked.

But I saw some quite affordable ties, so I picked up a few... Going to start wearing ties occasionally (not that I ever need to), and I tried to stick to more basic patterns for the most part.

The one in the back is actually red white & navy, although it reads red from a distance.

(I was going to post in the soporific tie thread, but I don't think I can live up after vox went and killed it)

Yeah, I'm a smalltimer, but I hope they're not offensively ugly.

Now that's a fine lilac shirt y'got there. Is that subtle check/plaid only on the yoke backing or is it on the entire shirt? DOF makes it hard to tell. edit: I can see it's on the rest of the shirt from the upper left shoulder. It's worth repeating: nice.

Just received this from Yoox:

Billtornade.bmp

Billtornade (or Bill Tornade) is a French company but I don't know much else. This is labelled a "S" and fits like a narrow 36R with high/tight armholes and very slim (and long) sleeves. No place of origin but I'm guessing overseas and not France. Reasonable quality for Yoox price of $300->$100.

And got these about a week or two ago:

I scored these Antonio Maurizis from Gilt for $199. Yes, one-ninety-nine.

Having found little info on the brand (Nordstrom's house brand at one point?) I had my hesitations - I mean, sure, they are only good imitations of the real thing (like these ) - but for an alternate sprezza steppin' out mid-timer shoe at under $200, they're fantastic.
