Nice, but IMO at the same time presents a pretty darned good argument for slouchier relaxed softer jackets on older men.

Maybe it's brand new and needs to be "worked in" a bit? Anyway, I see what you mean (and like it for younger men as well...).

I like the Huntsman 's look..

I have both styles and I do prefer the more structured one..

Horses for courses.

There are slouchier old men, and structured old men. There is enough space for everyone..

Absolutely. Some of the sharpest looks posted here have been on older men.

Incidentally, in general, I really don't know why people get at all hung up on what's appropriate for any particular age. Once you're past the youth stage when things are all over the shop, as you mature, style starts to be far more and more about knowing what works for your body shape and the confidence you have in how you dress, rather than what is appropriate for 'age'. I know some old guys whose physical condition would put most middle-aged men to shame, and they would carry off a sharp look like this far better than those younger guys.

Here is the link to Dandy Portraits where the Boyer image is from (via Ethandesu).

The drape on the jacket was built in:

Again with great clarity, Bruce described how he likes to look a bit disheveled.
Disheveled, louche... great words, and things to aspire to.

Words to live by, one might say. What a complete dude. I have nothing but respect.

And thanks for linking to that site; it may well be my new favourite.
