    2 ties? Why? Strikes me as similar to the double popped collars...

    Look more like 2 fabrics to me, with the join around where the knot is tied. I guess that's why the wearer wants the blade so visible, to show off the effect?

    You are right. At the knot it looks like 2 fabrics joined. But, it looks like it has two blades to me. Either way, I'm not sure I'm getting it though.
