Recent Gilt Grenson Sale

Did anyone purchase Grensons that were selling on Gilt last week? I grabbed a pair of lether chukkas (knew they weren't the rose line, but at 60-70% off, thought they'd be a solid deal) and they arrived with some pretty visible scuffs. A friend of mine also got a pair that had visible scuffs, although he was able to brush them out because they were suede.

My assumption is that these Grensons were all seconds, but I was curious if anyone else purchased a pair and had the same result. I didn't see anything on the listing that described them as seconds, although I may have missed the small print. Now I've got to buff in hopes of getting the scuffs out

Did anyone else purchase a pair and find flaws with their shoes?

I bought a pair of the brown cap toe shoes. They were huge! Even going down a 1/2 size they were still two sizes too big. I could practically jamb a fist behind my heel. They dwarfed the pair of 9.5 D Church's I was wearing.

I actually called before I ordered to verify sizing. They said follow the half-size down guideline. When I asked about width, they said they had no information. So, I made, apparently, the faulty assumption that they'd be a medium fit. They were a wide fitting (F).

They're taking them back and giving me full credit back.

Given how cheap they were, I wasn't overly concerned about them being perfect. I could have handled a minor defect or two.

My assumption is that they are from a lower, Made in India line.
