This concept is inspired by White’s boots, Converse from the 1930’s, and others…

The idea is:
- Lace-to-toe
- All leather upper
- eyes and hooks
- Goodyear welt
- Leather midsole
- Leather half slip
- Replaceable rubber sole

Here are a couple of quick sketches:

Do you guys know of any traditional boot companies that might go for this type of thing?
Anything I should change? I’d love any input you have,
Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion.
I was thinking of more of a traditional American boot maker.

Wow... if I may say two words... pure genius.

Be careful though... you never know who might read this forum and steal your ideas.

This already exists in Japan, all of Real Japan Blues' leather sneakers are rebuildable from the ground up and also the sole can be replaced by sending them back into the company.

Distorbiant --- Thanks for your kind words. I am hoping someone will steal my idea and make these.
Kiya --- Those sneakers sound really interesting. Do you have any pictures per chance?

I don't understand this. You just want a leather sneaker with a goodyear welted sole so it can be resoled?

Satisfies all of your requirements (sans eyelets/hooks really, sole is half leather/rubber but if that's an issue there's always the cobbler and like $10). Not sure if they replace the soles but I would imagine they do, why else bother goodyear welting them....

$500?!

We need something accessible!--not the kind of sneakers Steve Jobs would wear to a conference with his beltless jeans.

A vibram sole glued to sneakers would work just fine. The cushiness of a sneaker midsole is what makes them appealing. I know that some people claim a proper pair of boots or dress shoes is more comfortable than kicks, but I don't buy it.

Also, a cushy replaceable insole would be purrrfect. Most are pretty thin and just glued into place, thus replaceable, but something like superfeet would be way better.
