Great movie, it's in the underrated thread. I prefer the "original" though - The Out-of-Towners.

    This is a well-made trailer:

while they do good work, they could legitimately be the biggest ripoff in NYC. You want to laugh, ask them to show you their bespoke work and then inquire about the prices.

I know there's a whole thread for this, but since we just brought it up... Any suggestions for an alterations tailor? Mine just jacked up his prices, so I'm on the hunt again. Thinking Cardelino.

They were really pushing their bespoke work. And they don't seem to suffer for business, the place was pretty busy when I was there.

I'm thinking of thinking a taking a pair of pants back and having the hem moved 1/8" just to get some value out of the ridiculous charge.

This pic is really getting to me. I could see someone turning their back on some tagging hoodlums, but a well-dressed mom and kids who just don't give a shit about defacing a subway car seems shocking today.

I don't think the kid is defacing the car. It looks like he is playing with the knob that rotates the destination sign.

But if you mean you can't believe that the existing graffiti doesn't faze them, I agree - totally crazy to see everyone acting completely indifferent to a state of upkeep that would be an absolute outrage today.

Upon closer look perhaps he's trying to scrub the graffiti off.

I know right?! the kid is obviously twisting knob that opens the doors! It used to take at least 100 turns to open the doors in the 70's. the kid's just being pro-active before they hit their stop.

When I first moved here in 1993 the old "red bird" cars were still in service. They were kinda dodgy. But they didn't look quite that bad. I guess the graffitti clean up was already successful on the trains at least. The stations were truly awful though
