RWNYS: this nonsense at too many street corners as soon as we get a little bit of rain

My wife ruined her shoes in one of those the last time she was in NYC.

So, so true. It's even worse when it is snowmelt and the snow kinda dams it up and forms mini lakes. Yuck.

the worst is when it's snowy/wet out and a super thin ice surface give the illusion of wet pavement, but really it's just an ice water trap.

I know... and still those street corner traps fill up because of the completely moronic state of the streets and curbs.

Was midtown a couple blocks from Penn Station

It was coming down out there for a while, so this doesn't surprise me.

A bit annoyed as the weather report when I got up this morning said 30% chance of light rain, so I didn't bring my umbrella... Then it rained all day long, and wasn't very light, either...

    Have to agree.

When did 6th ave in midtown become a tourist destination? It's as bad as 5th.

Radio City but there's not much else. The closer you get to the park, the more tourists there will be.

But it's not just RC. Seems to have spread up and down, and to the west side. The buildings are making a real effort to deck their halls and I see a lot of people taking pics. Also seem to be quite a few street performers.

    Magnolia Bakery?
