the sprawl of DC and neighboring MD and VA is massive.
I mean shoes that I would wear with a suit. The stuff they are offering for kids these days is deplorable. He may just have to wear BB loafers until he fits men sizes.
I think I got my first pair of lace up dress shoes when I was 20.
I got my first pair much younger but IIRC Stride Rite and Buster Brown were offering some muuuch better looking stuff 30 years ago.

I think zipped boots are a good compromise for the younger kids, if trying to avoid another pair of velcro strapped shoes
One Manton is enough.
I would never wear zipped boots.
In fact, I dislike zippers altogether. Me and my best buddy had a bad experience with a zipper once. Button fly for me now.
